Cabe Gallery The Horace C. Cabe Gallery displays Historic Arkansas Museum's permanent collection of Arkansas-made art, objects and artifacts, focusing on the mechanical, decorative and fine arts of the 19th century. During the year the exhibits change and include traveling exhibits.

Hands-on History Room The education staff at Historic Arkansas Museum uses the Hands-On History Room to demonstrate pioneer lifestyles and other elements of Arkansas history in an interactive setting. In this photo, the Packing to Go program encourages decision-making skills by allowing students to choose what to carry on a journey across the American frontier.

Historic Grounds Historic Arkansas Museum was founded in 1941 to showcase its block of restored historic homes, original to the site from the mid-19th century. Every day, visitors to these homes encounter at least one costumed living history character, who portrays an original resident of the homes.

Plum Bayou Log House Loom Room The Plum Bayou Log House, used exclusively for educational groups, teaches students about pioneer lifestyles through topics such as foodways (churning butter, making cornbread), lighting (dipping candles) and, as shown here, textiles (spinning wool and weaving on a loom).

Lark in the Morning Historic Arkansas Museum opened a new museum center in 2001, with over 51,000 square feet of exhibition and activity space. This photo shows the Stella Boyle Smith Atrium, where visitors enter the facility and can view the historic grounds.
